It has taken us 6 years to reach this enviable status.
Receiving this award, tells us we have succeeded as much as is currently necessary in making the lodge “one with the environment”. The standards are high and difficult to reach. This is as it should be when the goal is to preserve the environment. Even more reason for the whole team to be happy but above all proud of the achievement.
Solar and wind power, wildlife conservation, community projects, growing our own produce and using it, water management, waste management… All this achieved without compromising in any way, quite the contrary, our guests well being and enjoyment of the incredible Amboseli eco-system.
There is however a problem with reaching this highest award: what do we do next? What should be our new target? We have found the answer: Continue improving the way we blend ourselves in the environment… and force Eco-tourism Kenya to set new, better and still higher standards to be reached.
It’s all in the name of preserving Kenya’s assets. What better motivation could we have?
